Quantitatively understand azimuth accuracy

(1) What is azimuth precision of 1°?

In terms of azimuth precision, 1° of angular precision is extraordinarily precise and not even visible on a magnetic needle to the naked eye.

Example of 1 degree difference. Can you tell which is which?

(2) 6° of azimuth precision

1 second leap of a wristwatch's second hand corresponds to 6 degrees.

(3) 45° of azimuth

The conventional 8 directional segmentation (N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W, NW) of azimuth corresponds to each 45 degree range.

For 16 directional segments (Displayed as NNW = North by North West, etc.) the azimuth corresponds to half of the 8 segmentation model or 22.5°
